A blog about working with clay and selling pots
Good luck with the firing. And the weather.
looks like an amazing load. I cross my fingers a hope for fair weather for you.Looking forward to seeing the finished pieces.
I am not familiar with distances and places. Why do you need to take them to Unionville? What type of kiln exists there? I will look forward to seeing the fired results.
Dear Pricilla, good luck with this load of your precious work. I look forward to seeing your results. Also is your "wadding" green clay for pots to stand on? or some kind of fill? Kind reards. PG
Cambria pottery: I am firing in this kiln because the wood kilns at the Bray are too big for me to fill in the month I have been here. It is only about 5 miles out of Helena.Patricia G: Wadding is a mixture of alumina, sawdust and china clay - it resists the ash and salt in the kiln atmosphere and prevents the pots from becolming stuck to the shelves.
