Friday off

On friday I drove with Paula Rice to Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater

The incredible stillness of Wupatki

Wonderful, recently-found pot, one of two found when eroding lava uncovered a little of the surface.
"....Rich Rogers happened to see a small piece of pottery exposed at the bottom of a gully created in a slope of volcanic cinders."
Read the whole account here
Near the rim of the pot one can see holes which had been drilled in order bind  a crack tightly together and prevent it developing further.
