I am not familiar with distances and places. Why do you need to take them to Unionville? What type of kiln exists there? I will look forward to seeing the fired results.
Dear Pricilla, good luck with this load of your precious work. I look forward to seeing your results. Also is your "wadding" green clay for pots to stand on? or some kind of fill? Kind reards. PG
Cambria pottery: I am firing in this kiln because the wood kilns at the Bray are too big for me to fill in the month I have been here. It is only about 5 miles out of Helena. Patricia G: Wadding is a mixture of alumina, sawdust and china clay - it resists the ash and salt in the kiln atmosphere and prevents the pots from becolming stuck to the shelves.
Good luck with the firing. And the weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeletelooks like an amazing load. I cross my fingers a hope for fair weather for you.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the finished pieces.
